As the country community nears the anniversary of Merle Haggard’s death, some of the genre’s biggest stars are gathering together to celebrate his life and art with a massive tribute concert. Hosted by Haggard’s family and Willie Nelson, Sing Me Back Home: The Music Of Merle Haggard will take place at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena April 6, 2017, which would have also been Haggard’s 80th birthday.

Benefitting the T.J. Martell Foundation, the epic concert will include performances from Nelson, Miranda Lambert, Kenny Chesney, John Mellencamp, Dierks Bentley, Loretta Lynn, Hank Williams Jr., the Avett Brothers, Alison Krauss, Ronnie Dunn, Warren Haynes, Jamey Johnson, Kacey Musgraves, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Lucinda Williams, Ben Haggard, John Anderson, Connie Smith and Bobby Bare. Even more performers are to be announced in the coming weeks.

Country Stars Remember Merle Haggard

Tickets for the event go on sale March 3 via Ticketmaster and the Bridgestone Arena box office.

For fans who can’t make the show, the concert will be filmed and recorded to be distributed on a number of platforms after the fact, including a worldwide broadcast and digital media.

"I am so very thankful for this tribute to my husband,” Theresa Haggard says in a press release. "Please come join me and my family at this fantastic show that Merle would be so proud of.”

Haggard passed away on his 79th birthday in 2016 after several bouts of pneumonia. His final album, Django & Jimmie, on which he collaborated with Nelson, hit No. 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums charts in 2015.
