35 Years Ago: MTV Hit the Airwaves

35 years ago today on August 1, 1981 at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time, a new revolutionary cable TV channel called MTV was launched. Video jockey or 'VJ' Alan Goodman introduced us all to MTV, which stood for Music Television, from its New York City-based network operations facility.
