60 years ago on this date (March 30, 1956), Johnny Cash recorded one of his signature songs,  'I Walk the Line'. Cash recorded the song for Sun Records in Memphis, Tennessee.

What many might not know is that Cash actually wrote the song right here in the Lone Star state of Texas as he told in a telephone interview before his death,

“I wrote the song backstage one night in 1956 in Gladewater, Texas. I was newly married at the time, and I suppose I was laying out my pledge of devotion."

The song was included on Cash's debut album With His Hot and Blue Hair released on October 11, 1957.
