The ASU Small Business Development Center will be hosting a FREE seminar for small business owners and entrepreneurs entitled, “Do I have to collect sales tax?” covering sales tax basics on Tuesday, August 13, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Business Resource Center Training Room, 69 N. Chadbourne.
Attend this seminar to learn how to properly collect and report taxes, maintaining files, and how to prepare for a possible audit (and how to reduce your likelihood of needing an audit). The seminar will be presented by a representative from the Texas State Comptroller’s office.

Topics covered will include completing tax returns, what is or isn’t taxable, your responsibilities as a taxpayer, Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts services and publications, and will touch on the Franchise Tax. Many helpful and useful publications will be available for you and there will be a question and answer session.
