A Dog Named Lazarus Survives Euthanasia Attempt [VIDEO]

A truly amazing story as a dog now named Lazarus survived a euthanasia attempt on his life.

Lazarus was set to be put to sleep after an animal shelter in Alabama could not find a home for him.  The dog's owners left him at the shelter when they moved and could no longer take care of him.  After several attempts to find a home for the animal, the decision was made to euthanize him.

Drugs were given to Lazarus, but to the surprise of his handlers at the shelter, he was up and about the next morning.

New owners were found after word spread about dog's story.  The new owners bestowed the name Lazarus on him after his ordeal.
