Tony Hernandez, 41, of San Angelo was arrested on multiple charges Tuesday afternoon after he attempted to evade Police in north San Angelo.

Police were dispatched to a vacant property in the 1800 block of Martin Luther King Drive for the report of an unwanted subject.  While enroute, they learned no one was supposed to be inside. 

Upon arrival, they detected someone inside and attempted to enter; however a man, later identified as Hernandez, tried to prevent their entry.

Officers successfully entered the property and quickly discovered the man had fled.  Citizens who were nearby alerted the Officers to Hernandez’s direction of travel and a foot pursuit ensued throughout the surrounding area. 

The pursuit ended in the parking lot of Icon Cinema, 2020 N. Bryant Blvd, where Hernandez was taken into custody without further incident.  During a search of Hernandez incident to his arrest, Officers located marijuana. 

Hernandez was transported to the Tom Green County Jail and charged with five outstanding City warrants, Criminal Trespass of Habitation, Evading Arrest Detention, and Class B Possession of Marijuana.
