Tom Stoppard’s “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead” places two intriguing characters from Shakespeare’s “Hamlet” in the limelight with an irreverent look at what happened behind the play’s scenes.  The result is perspective on the human condition through the adventures of the duo that Hamlet described as “my two schoolfellows.”

Mike Burnett, assistant director of ASU University Theatre, will direct the play and serve as the scenic, lighting and sound designer.  Eldra Sanford is the University Theatre costumer and Matt Smith is the technical director.  Student assistants for this production are Jacob Scott, assistant director; Elizabeth Holland, assistant lighting designer; Maggie Hogan, electrician/light operator; Martin Rodriguez, master carpenter; Brooke Addison, charge painter; Morgan Slaughter, props master; Casandra Trautman, wardrobe supervisor; Josely Limardo, stagehand; Shelby Butcher, wardrobe crew; and Katie Hejl, house manager.
