In case you missed it, Asleep at the Wheel appeared on Letterman last night (April 13).

Asleep at the Wheel’s third and final Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys tribute album entitled Still the King: Celebrating the Music of Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys came out last month. There is a reason that they paid tribute to these guys because they are real country, fiddle playing, swing dancer music, and a website dedicated to his work says:

BOB WILLS WAS MORE THAN A LEGENDARY PERFORMER. HE WAS A MAN FROM THE SHARECROPPER’S FIELDS WHO UNDERSTOOD MIDDLE AMERICA’S HARDSHIP, SWEAT AND PAIN. HE WAS A FAVORITE SON WHO HAD SOMEHOW FOUGHT HIS WAY TO THE TOP. – DWIGHT ADAIR

The album features 22 collaborations with a host of country music super stars. The album includes cuts with George Strait, Lyle Lovett, Robert Earl Keen, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard Reckless Kelly, Carrie Rodriguez, and more.
