ASU Planetarium Shows for September

Angelo State University’s Global Immersion Center (GIC), formerly the Planetarium, will present two full-dome public astronomy shows each Thursday in September in the Vincent Nursing-Physical Science Building, 2333 Vanderventer St.|
Each Thursday from Sept. 5-26, “Black Holes: The Other Side of Infinity” will run at 7 p.m. and “Oasis in Space” will run at 8 p.m.  All the shows are open to the public with admission prices of $3 for adults and $2 for children, active military and senior citizens.  ASU students, faculty and staff are admitted free.

Sponsored by Concho Educators Federal Credit Union, “Black Holes: The Other Side of Infinity” is a cutting-edge production featuring high-resolution visualizations of cosmic phenomena.  It works with data generated by computer simulations to bring the current science of black holes to the full-dome screen.

“Oasis in Space” transports the audience on a startling and beautiful voyage through our universe, galaxy and solar system in search of liquid water – a key ingredient for life on Earth.  Viewers will visit each of the planets in the solar system through the GIC’s SciDome high-definition projection system.
