Bruce Robison has been writing and playing music for many years, music for himself. But he is so good at writing that other artists wanted to and have covered many of his songs. He has a new album out today that includes some covers he wanted to do...

Some of the songs Bruce wrote that others have recorded include: “Wrapped,” recorded by George Strait,“Travelin’ Soldier” covered by the Dixie Chicks, & Tim McGraw and Faith Hill’s version of “Angry All The Time”, all number one songs nationally! There have been numerous other huge hits he has written that were also recorded by other artist.

In the mid-2000s he changed his focus more to family and being a dad. Eventually, he and his talented wife Kelly Willis got back to the music and recorded two albums in 2013 and 2014.

Now, Bruce Robison is releasing his first new solo album in almost a decade. 'Bruce Robison & The Back Porch Band' is his new project and it includes both originals and... for a change, covers of songs by other artist he wanted to record!

On his new record, Robison mixes originals with classics that include a George Jones cut, “Still Doin’ Time”, a Christy Hays tune called “Lake Of Fire”, and he even covered The Who's "Squeezebox"!

Robison explains...“The players on this album are a rotating cast of people I’ve been making music with for 20 years. Sometimes its a raucous cast of troublemakers, like on “Paid My Dues,” which features Jack Ingram, Jason Eady and Mickey Braun all having way too much fun to call it “work.”

“We recorded about 25 songs, and I wish the album were 15 songs long,” Robison notes, but they got it down to nine cuts.

'Bruce Robison & The Back Porch Band' comes out Today, April 28th. You can catch Bruce out touring for the remainder of 2017.
