Chris Stapleton played a New Year's Eve show in Nashville to ring in 2016 and boy did he ever as he performed alongside the Kings of Leon for a show-stopping cover of a Lynyrd Skynyrd classic.

The southern rock group was tapped as the headliner for this year’s massive New Years Eve celebration in downtown Nashville.

Stapleton, who became one of country music’s biggest breakthrough artists in 2015, performed his own solo set earlier in the evening to a massive crowd and later joined Kings of Leon onstage for an incredible rendition of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s popular 1973 track, “Simple Man.”
