This Friday-Sunday is Texas' Tax Free Weekend and you can help our kids by donating to the D.E.S.K. Program!

Whether your shopping for school supplies, clothes, or just taking advantage of the tax free weekend, make sure you stop by the Super Walmart on N. 29th or the Super Walmart on West Sherwood Way and donate to the D.E.S.K. Program.

For over 10 years, the D.E.S.K. (Donate Educational Supplies for Kids) Program has asked for your generous donation of school supplies or cash to help kids in the San Angelo Independent School District. Many kids and their families struggle to get the supplies needed, and this is where you can help!

D.E.S.K. Volunteers will be at both Walmart locations from 10 am - 6 pm all 3 days. All you have to do is drop cash in the donation jugs or buy a few extra school supplies while your shopping and drop them off to the volunteers as you leave the store.

All proceeds-school supplies will be given to SAISD for distribution to the students. Any leftover supplies will be kept to give to students throughout the school year as the need arises.

Here are the school supply lists for SAISD for the 2016-2017 School Year:

The goal of the D.E.S.K. drive is to make sure that every child who attends SAISD schools has all the supplies they need to have a successful school year.

Make sure to stop by and donate this Friday-Sunday, 10 until 6 each day, because No Child Deserves an Empty Desk!
