Texas native Donnie Dunagan, best known for his work as the voice of Young Bambi in this Disney classic Bambi, is making a special guest appearance at San Angelo Comic Con.

But Dunagan isn't just the voice of one of Disney's most beloved characters. He's actually a real-life tough guy who became the youngest Marine drill instructor in history. Dunagan went on to serve multiples tours in Vietnam. For his service, he was awarded a Bronze Star and three Purple Hearts.

During his service, Dunagan didn't say a word about his prior work as an actor. His comrades had no idea they were fighting side-by-side with Bambi!

Dunagan will be at San Angelo Comic Con, which happens, Oct. 12-14th, 2018.

Here's his bio:

Born in San Antonio, at the age of three-and-a-half Donnie won a talent contest prize of $100. Spotted by a studio talent scout, the family moved to Hollywood, where Dunagan appeared in a series of films and soon became his family's main breadwinner, providing the voice for the young fawn in the legendary classic, Walt Disney's Bambi., At the age of 18 he enlisted in the Marine Corps and became the Marines' youngest-ever drill instructor. He served three tours in Vietnam, where he was wounded several times, before finally retiring in 1977 with the rank of Major. For his service he received a Bronze Star and three Purple Hearts. FUN FACT: Dunagan kept his acting career a secret while serving in the Marines!
