The Stephens Central Library will offer free computer classes in August with registration beginning Monday, July 22nd at 9 a.m. All computer classes are located in the computer lab on the second floor of the Stephens Central Library at 33 West Beauregard. For details call 655-7321 or come by the library to pick up a calendar.
A calendar of scheduled classes will also be available to view on the Tom Green County Library website, www.tgclibrary.com. Registration is required and classes fill up quickly, so sign up early. Here are the classes that will be offered:

Computer Basics:  Learn the fundamentals of personal computer use including very basic Windows 7 functions. (BASIC MOUSE SKILLS REQUIRED)

Internet Basics: Basics of accessing the  Internet using Internet Explorer.  Using web  addresses and search engines to find  information. (BASIC MOUSE SKILLS REQUIRED)

Word I & II (2 parts): Basics of word  processing using Microsoft Word 2010. (BASIC COMPUTER & TYPING SKILLS REQUIRED)

Excel I & II (2 parts):  Basics of creating and working with spreadsheets using Excel 2010. (BASIC COMPUTER SKILLS REQUIRED)

Publisher:  Learn basic techniques in Microsoft Publisher including how to create a  professional looking brochure. (BASIC COMPUTER SKILLS REQUIRED)

PowerPoint:  Basics of creating a slideshow presentation. (BASIC COMPUTER SKILLS REQUIRED)

Adobe Electric Studio: Computer-design courses for teens and their families on the use of Adobe Photoshop; Adobe Dreamweaver; Adobe Illustrator; Adobe Flash; and Adobe In- Design. (BASIC COMPUTER SKILLS REQUIRED)
