Ft. McKavett VFD Cookoff!
“Come on out to the best kept secret in West Texas cook offs!
The Ft. McKavett Volunteer Fire Department is holding its annual BBQ and Chili cook off fundraiser at the Ft. McKavett Community Center, just north of the Ft. McKavett State Historic Site, on TX-864 (Toe Nail Trail), south of US-190 and about 17 miles west of Menard, TX this Saturday!
CASI open chili rules will apply -- CUT MEAT WELCOME! Chili entry fee is $20.00 (checks payable to CVCP). Chili turn-in is 1:00pm.
There is also a Lone Star Barbeque Society sanctioned BBQ cookoff!
Limited hook-ups and dry camping available.
Come enjoy a BBQ lunch at noon (donations requested) featuring brisket, chicken, sausage, potato salad, and beans.
There will also be a silent auction (ends at 1:00pm) and grand auction (begins at 2:00pm). Proceeds will benefit the Ft. McKavett VFD.
