Some of the biggest names in Country and Americana will get together in Nashville for a musical tribute to the late Guy Clark on August 16th.

Emmylou Harris, Rodney Crowell, Jack Ingram,Vince Gill, Steve Earle, Joe Ely,  Jerry Jeff Walker and other artists will perform some of the Texas singer-songwriter’s biggest hits at the Ryman Auditorium.

Guy penned many hit songs for a lot of artist like: Jerry Jeff Walker, Steve Wariner, Rodney Crowell, Lyle Lovett, Ricky Skaggs, Alan Jackson, The Highwaymen, Jimmy Buffett and many more. Guy is a member of ”The Songwriter Hall of Fame" and "Grammy" award winner as well.

Guy wrote many great songs like: "Desperados Waiting for a Train", "L.A Freeway", "Hemingway's Whiskey", "Come From The Heart", "Stuff That Works" and many, many more.

Guy was a major influence in creating the Progressive Country and Outlaw Country sound.

In the past few years of his life, Clark had been battling failing health, but still remained prolific. His 2014 album 'My Favorite Picture of You' won a Grammy Award for Best Folk Album.

It's pretty special to many of us who make our home in and around the Concho Valley, to know that Guy was born just up the road in Monahans, Texas in 1941.

Guy Clark passed on May 17th, 2016 at the age of 74.
