Here They Come To Save The Day… Er Uh, The World- The Avengers
The Avengers released April 11th of this year and was a must see for avid movie goers and comic freaks. Over a month later and it's still having sold out showings. It must be something worth checking out.
They've come a long way since the comics and since I was a kid but I won't complain. Ashley and I went to see The Avengers on Sunday afternoon and like I said in my other blog 'Bob Simpson Makes for a Nice Sunday Surprise In San Angelo' you know the 3:00PM showing was sold out so we had to go to a much later 10:00PM showing. The 10:00PM showing was almost sold out as well but we were still able to get some good seats, we did get there about 20 minutes early though.
The movie was fantastic. I wished Spider Man had made the cut but that's neither here nor there. Heroes in The Avengers include The Hulk, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, Hawkeye and my personal favorite Iron Man. Robert Downey Jr. does a great job with Iron Man and adds some great comedic relief throughout the entire movie not to mention, Iron Man is just cool. Scarlet Johansson, if looks could kill. Oh wait, she was the Black Widow. That was a little lame but whatever. Jeremy Renner has been known to play that good character turned bad so he was a great fit for Hawkeye. Chris Evans as expected was Captain America and fits the part well. Chris Hemsworth played the part of Thor which he looks like I would expect Thor to look and had the booming, grabs your attention voice. Mark Ruffalo was The Hulk, out of all the actors who have played The Hulk recently I think Mark did the best job. I don't know what it was but he suited the character perfectly.
If you're not a fan of long fights scenes don't see this movie as the fights are long and many. For someone who grew up with most of these superheros like myself or a movie buff in general I'd say it's a great choice. It is offered in 3D but the movies I've seen recently in 3D did't tickle my fancy as far as 3D quality goes. If you saw The Avengers did you like it?
