The Smithsonian National Museum of American History is looking for a beer historian/scholar. The person hired would conduct field research, or to put it another way, drink beer.....and collect data on America’s brewing history........

The job is a three-year project funded by the Brewers Association. The position pays $65 thousand per year with benefits. Still interested?

According to the job posting from the Washington City Paper, the position’s focus would be on craft beer since the industry has boomed in the last couple of years.

The museum’s curator, Paula Johnson said that “they are curious about the craft beer movement”.

The Smithsonian has plenty of information on brewing from the 19th and early 20th centuries. But now, they’re looking to fill out their post-1960s collection.

If you’re a craft beer lover and are willing make a move to the D.C. area, you might want to check into this once in a lifetime job opportunity!
