When you think of fine wine, you probably don’t think about wine on shelves at Walmart. Well, think again! Decanter World Wine Awards just named La Moneda Reserva’s Malbec, which is a very inexpensive wine sold at Walmart, its Platinum Best in Show.

La Moneda Reserva’s Malbec is made by Asda, a subsidiary of Walmart. The flavor has been described as a mixture of succulent juicy berries, freshly crushed black fruit, creamy vanilla yogurt and pepper spice.

This wine competed against 16,000 other varieties from around the world in a blind taste test with 240 global judges and wine experts present for the wine-tasting. When all was tasted and done.....it won Platinum Best in Show!
