Back in 2011, Kacey Musgraves was a name that most country fans did not know. At that time, she was working hard penning songs with Shane McAnally and Brandy Clark.

They were writing songs that would later be featured on her 2013 debut album, 'Same Trailer Different Park' which was hugely successful for her.

One song that also came to life during those songwriting sessions ended up becoming a huge hit for another female country star.

I found a rarely-seen video of Kacey Musgraves demo recording of what would become one of Miranda Lambert's biggest hits, and I want to share it with you.

In this video, you’ll see footage of Musgraves hard at work in the studio set to the demo version of “Mama’s Broken Heart.” With minimal production and accompaniment, the track has a much different vibe than the version made famous by Lambert.
