Kris Kristofferson's 80th birthday is June 22nd. In honor of his legacy, a 16-CD box set will be released on June 10.

Titled 'Kris Kristofferson: The Complete Monument & Columbia Album Collection' will include some of Kristofferson’s essential studio albums, as well as rare live recordings and unreleased demos.

11 out of the 16 albums in the collection will be re-releases of studio albums from 1970 to 1981 with reproductions of the original album artwork. The remaining five discs are unreleased or extremely rare, and include live performances, demos and outtakes.

The set will also include liner notes and essays written specifically for this release.

Kristofferson is best known for being a pioneer of country music both as a writer and performer, but has also had a successful acting career. He has won several Grammys and is a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
