Well, at least he was. Jeff Gordon and his wife, Ingrid Vandebosch, were among some 400 guests who attended a White House dinner Tuesday night to mark the occasion of the U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit in Washington D.C.

Gordon and his wife joined African leaders, government officials and other VIPs for dinner inside a huge tent erected on the South Lawn of the White House.

The current Sprint Cup Series points leader will back in his No. 24 car this weekend at Watkins Glen International for the Cheez-It 355 at The Glen.
