The New Music Showdown this week has some pretty stiff competition and bands from two different states going mano a mano.  The Cody Bryan Band is an Austin based band who sent me a tune titled If I'm Going Nowhere.  It comes to us from their upcoming album Wreck Me set to release May 14th and I'm looking forward to hearing the rest of their tunes.  I've got to tell ya, I'm diggin' on this one.  They have sort of a older Randy Rogers sound mixed with something I can't quite put my finger on.  The writing, musicianship and production on this one is great.  Take a listen, you'll know what I mean.

In the other corner we have the John D. Hale Band which happens to be a Missouri based band that I've actually been listening to for sometime now.  You've heard their tune Heartbreaker and now they've sent us another single, More Than I Can Handle.  The song is from the album of the same name and I get a folk/rock feel from it which is a sound I really enjoy.  The hard hitting bass drum, songwriting and awesome guitar makes for something your ears will thank you for.  Fun fact about these guys, I got to ride a camel at the stock show because of them.  Cool guys and great music, take a listen and cast your vote.  Enjoy!
