Ray Wylie Hubbard Is Getting Ready To Release A New Album

Get ready for a new album from Ray Wylie Hubbard on August 18th...

The Album is called 'Tell The Devil I’m Getting There As Fast As I Can' which he is releasing on his own Bordello Records label on August 18th .

There are 11 self-produced tracks on his new album. Hubbard says “There’s a definite beginning, middle, and end to this record. It starts with ‘Genesis,’ and at the ending, there I am trying to plead my case before the court of heaven, hoping I’ve got a good lawyer.”

Ray is pretty diversified when it comes to his music. You'll hear a broad spectrum ranging from sacred to profane. Ray says...“You kind of give him a personality, you know? Like in ‘Lucifer and the Fallen Angels,’ you pick up this guy hitchhiking to Mobile, Alabama, and he’s just this colorful kind of smart-ass, funky cat. It reminds me of ‘A Streetcar Named Desire,’ where you’ve got Marlon Brando as this brute in a torn T-shirt, but what he’s saying is brilliant, because his words are from Tennessee Williams. I always enjoy that.”

Lucinda Williams, Eric Church, and Patty Griffin are among other artist you will hear on the new album which was recorded at The Zone in Dripping Springs, Texas. Ray's son Lucas plays lead guitar on the album.
