Reminder That Burn Ban Is Still In Effect
Tom Green County Commissioners want to remind you that Tom Green County is still in a burn ban.
As the weather warms up and we begin to get outside County Commissioners and The Emergency Operations Division would like to remind you that the Burn Ban is still in effect.
The ban prohibits outdoor burning until the ban is lifted by the County Commissioners.City Fire Marshall Ross Coleman is encouraging people who wish to cook out side to use propane as a fuel source. Also remember that there are no ground fires allowed in the Spring Creek and Middle Concho Camping Areas all fires must be in a stone or metal container.
There are a few exceptions for the outdoor burn ban which include: fire fighting training, public utility, natural gas pipeline or mining operations, harvesting of agricultural crops and any burn that is conducted by a prescribed burn manager.
If you have questions you may call the City Fire Marshal’s Office at 325-657-4358.
