On February 2nd the folks at the Nature Center will be hosting a party and festivities that start at 10 am. Councilman Paul Alexander and Micheal Price director of the Nature Center will be pulling the West Texas version of Puxatony Phil from a make shift burrow to give the Concho Valley a weather prediction.

We all know how the legend goes if Emmy our West Texas version of a groundhog comes out and doesn't see her shadow then we will have an early onset of spring. If she does see her shadow then its another six weeks of winter for the Concho Valley.

While at the event be sure to check out the discounted family memberships to the Nature Center so you can come back time and time again. During the event you will have acess to free popcorn, sodas and more. You will also have the opportunity to purchase groundhog items in the gift shop.

For more information you can call the Nature Center at 325-942-0121.
