Linda Ashton who is a board member with Friends of San Angelo State Park dropped by for a visit today on the Kickin' Wake-Up Call to bring us up to date with a number of events being offered starting tomorrow.

This Saturday, August 22nd the Park is offering a free morning Clay Bird Shooting experience for youth that includes free classes, the use of shotguns, and free ammo. Then at 5 pm there is a fun and food competition Clay Bird Shoot for prizes and dinner is included with your registration fee. Linda gave us information on registration and shooting times.

September 12th & 13th the park rangers are gearing up for a mentoring Dove Hunt with classes for all ages that will include field training.

Coming up September 26th and 27th the Flight of the Monarch's celebration and Trail Ride Fundraiser for the Friends of the Park will be taking place for two days of fun that includes chuck wagon meals, riding, live entertainment, and more. Linda explained how the money raised goes back into projects with the park.

Linda also gave us an overview of so many things that are offered by our State Park like Camping, Cabins, Horse Stables, and numerous other recreational opportunities available to everyone.
