There is a lot going on in the Concho Valley this week including a Clay Shoot, Bike Tour, Triathlon, Concert in the yard, Wakeboarding Competition, arts & crafts fair, and more....

The 17th Annual Shannon Sporting Clay Shoot is this Friday and Saturday, July 15th & 16th. There are 3 courses, gun raffles, live auction which includes an African Safari, 40 gun prizes, and much more. Register now at shannonhealth.org.

Bike MS, the Cactus & Crude Bike Tour is this Saturday and Sunday, July 16th & 17th. It's 2 fun days of riding your bicycle to help those who are fighting MS. There will be rest stops, fantastic meals, awards, prizes, and a Texas wine experience at Caprock Winery in Lubbock at the end of the tour. The Concho Valley Farmers Market is a great opportunity for you to buy fresh, locally grown seasonal fruits, vegetables and plants every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 7 am until they run out (usually by noon). Vendors come from a 75-mile radius around San Angelo. The Farmers Market is held under the pavilion at 609 S. Oakes St. across from Fort Concho.

The Lake Nasworthy Sprint Triathlon is coming up this Sunday, July 17th beginning at 7:30 am at Mary Lee Park. It's a 300 yard  swim, 10 mile bike ride and 2 mile run. For entry fees and registration information, go to roadlizards.org or call Pat at 245-8884.

This Thursday, July 14th is the 2nd Thursday of the month which means the Chicken Farm will be hosting another free concert in the yard. Wake the Desert Wakeboarding Competition 2016 is being held this Friday through Sunday, July 15th-17th at Middle Concho Park -  Lake Nasworthy.  Enjoy plenty of Wake Boarding & Wake Surfing competition all weekend long. For more information, call 432-697-0427.

This Saturday, July 16th is the 3rd Saturday of the month which brings us another Cactus Market Day. The outdoor market will showcase local crafters, designers and artists offering a variety of handmade items for sale. Vendors are welcome to lease space by calling Judy at 949-6200. The monthly arts and crafts fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 pm at 13 E. Twohig Ave. across from the Cactus Hotel downtown.
