It's another great week of things to do in the Concho Valley. This week brings you the Downtown Stroll, a Rock the Block Celebration, Cactus Market Days, sports tournaments, and more.......

Enjoy The Downtown Stroll once again this Thursday from 5:00 - 9:00 PM
featuring a variety of galleries and art exhibits, restaurants, merchants, museums, library exhibits, music venues, and more. There are even free trolley rides that make stops along the way starting at 6:00 pm. For more information, go to downtownsanangelo.com or call 655-2345.

Rock the Block is this Sunday, August 21st from Noon-4 pm at MLK Park.  It's free and all students are invited to come out for this fun back to school event. There will be free haircuts, inflatables and games, door prizes including Walmart gift cards, back packs full of school supplies, free socks, and more! This fun afternoon is courtesy of the SAPD Dream Program, The Minority Council, and the Rough Riders Motorcycle Club.

August 20th is the 3rd Saturday of the month which means Cactus Market Days will be in full swing from 10 am - 5 pm. The outdoor market showcases local crafters, designers and artists who will offer a variety of handmade items for sale. Booth space is available for a $20 fee with an additional $5 fee for an electrical hookup. Cactus Market days is held in the parking lot at 13 E. Twohig Ave. across from the Cactus Hotel downtown. The Concho Valley Farmers Market is a great place to buy locally grown and seasonal fruits, vegetables, and plants every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday starting at 7 am. You'll find The farmers market under the pavilion at 609 S. Oakes St. across from Fort Concho.

The Young Professionals of San Angelo are sponsoring a Mixed Adult Volleyball Tournament this Saturday, August 20th at the Bosque, 330 South Irving. Entry fee is $150.00 for a team of 6 players. Downtown Movie Night features 'Viva Las Vegas' this Friday, August 19th at sundown in the parking lot across from the Cactus Hotel. Admission is free. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets. Concessions will also be available. Go to downtownmovienight.com for more information.

San Angelo's VFW is holding their 4th Annual Golf Tournament this Saturday, August 20th with a shotgun start at 8 am at Quicksand Golf Course. Individual fee is $75, group fee is $100. Food, prizes and carts will be provided. It's a four person scramble. For more information, call 227-9698.

The People Plant Connection has 2 gardening seminars coming up this Friday & Saturday, August 19th & 20th. The Friday Lunch & Learn Class will feature rainwater harvesting and water conservation for $5.00 per person. The Saturday's Green Thumb Mini Seminar will feature 3 speakers talking about soil amendments, worm farming and composting for $25.00 per person.
