Thanksgiving, Shopping, Concerts, Art Celebrations, Santa, and more this week in the Concho Valley...

Stores are working together this Saturday after Thanksgiving to offer a fun shopping experience with free rides and prizes during Shop Small San Angelo, an event that promotes local shopping. Enjoy free trolley rides which will connect downtown San Angelo, Stadium Park Shopping Center, Southwest Plaza, Sunset Mall and the Village Shopping Center from 10 am to 4 pm. A Shop Small Pop-up Shop at 115 E. Concho will house vendors and artisans who don’t have traditional storefronts. Other activities include cash prize drawings, a scavenger hunt for more prizes and swag bags for shoppers while supplies last. The Chicken Farm Art Center's Annual Open House is this Fri - Sun, Nov 24th - 26th.
This three day event brings artists from around Texas and Nationally to San Angelo and is one of the center's biggest events of the year. In addition to numerous resident artists, 30-40 out of market artists will display their work and wares with outside booths while live music fills the air during this celebration. Santa's Santa Fe Christmas gets underway this Saturday, Nov. 25th from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM at the Railway Museum of San Angelo. Santa Claus will actually arrive by train at 10:00 a.m. on the morning of the 24th. The Depot will be open from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, December 1st through December 30th for all to enjoy their wonderland of holiday decorations at the station. Every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, The Concho Valley Farmers Market’s weekly produce sales begin at 7 a.m. The vendors come from a 75-mile radius around San Angelo offering locally grown and seasonal fruits, vegetables and plants from 7 am until they sell out (typically by noon). The farmers market is held under the pavilion at 609 S. Oakes St. across from Fort Concho. For more information, call 245-3338.
