The Lee Ranch Barbeque Cookoff and ATV Poker Run will be this Saturday, July 29th at the Lee Ranch on Hwy 277. Barbeque categories include brisket, pork spare ribs, chicken, beans and jalapeno poppers. The ATV Poker Run begins at 2 and the 50 mile course crosses 3 ranches from Hwy 277 to Hwy 67. The Railway Museum is having their annual ‘Hobo Day’ this Saturday, July 29th from 10-4. This event features ‘Hobo Stew’, costume contest, fry an egg on the rails contest, washer pitching contest, and more. Admission is $5.00 for adults and includes a free child’s ticket. Ages 6-12 are invited to enjoy Fun At The Fort this Wednesday, July 26th. Join the Infantry for the day between 9:30 – 12 noon at Fort Concho. Enlist and be a soldier while learning to march and drill, sample hardtack and take home a souvenir of your trip to the past. Activities are taught by Fort Concho staff and volunteers. St Mary’s Summer Concert featuring Little Joe y La Familia, Jon Wolfe, Hache Tres, and Jamie Richards is this Saturday, July 29th at the 1st Community Credit Union Spur Arena. The Concho Valley Farmers Market continues every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday under the pavilion at 609 S. Oakes St. across from Fort Concho. Buy locally grown seasonal fruits, vegetables and plants from vendors who come from a 75-mile radius around San Angelo. Hours are from 7 a.m. until they sell out (typically by noon).
The Green Apple Art Center in Eden continues their 2017 concert series this Friday evening, July 28th. Enjoy Shinyribs and opening act the Peterson Brothers. Downtown Movie Night is this Friday night, July 29th and features ‘The Lego Batman Movie.’ It’s free and you can bring your lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the show which starts at 9:15. Concessions will be available in the parking lot at 17 E. Twohig, across the street from the Cactus Hotel.

The Glory Road Cowboy Church in Ballinger will host Troy Owens Memorial Buck Out at the Troy Owens arena this Saturday, July 29th. Enjoy a chuckwagon meal for $7.00 per plate, kid’s activities including shetland bronc riding and bucking calves. There’s bull riding and bronc riding for the adults with $1,000.00 added prize money.
