Angelo State University’s Club Café coffeehouse-style entertainment series will feature singer/songwriter Jason LeVasseur at 7:30 p.m. this Wednesday at the Plaza Verde Residence Hall, 1941 S. Van Buren St.

Sponsored by the University Center Program Council, LeVasseur will perform in the Plaza Verde Clubhouse. The doors will open at 7 p.m. and the event is free and open to the public.

Based in North Carolina, LeVasseur grew up in Mexico and Belgium before returning to the U.S. for college. His world travels influence his playing style and his perspective on the world, allowing him to cross the line from rock to world music, from blues to ballads. He has opened for Dave Matthews Band, Maroon 5, John Mayer, The Roots, The Wallflowers, Ben Folds, Ludacris, Sugarland and LMFAO. He has recorded five CDs of original music, including “In Another Life” (2011), “Introducing … Life in General” (2008), “Live in Lyndonville” (2006), “Driver is the DJ” (2005), “Opening Guy Live” (2003) and “Watching the Girls Go By” (2002).
