Steve Earle is one of those individuals that commands respect and a sense of awe when you think of the great music he has given us over the years. Steve is one of the top songwriters ever! That having been said....I'm sure you will want to know that he has a new album on the way!...

Earle has announced the upcoming release of 'So You Wanna Be An Outlaw'. Be looking for it June 16th from Warner Bros. Records.

Steve has described the record as a return to his roots. Even though Steve has lived in New York City for the past 10 years, we are proud to say that he is Texas Born & raised and still has his Texas roots.

So You Wanna Be An Outlaw, will feature longtime backing band The Dukes. This is the first album Earle has recorded in Austin, Texas. Not only that, but Earle is collaborating with other Texas-born artists for this project including: Miranda Lambert, Johnny Bush and Willie Nelson. Sounds like a Texas theme is woven throughout this album!

Earle has described the album as his hat tip to the legendary outlaw country pioneer Waylon Jennings. It includes a song written by Billy Joe Shaver & covered by Jennings. Steve also honors another country legend on the album...the late Guy Clark.

You can catch Steve Earle on tour this summer. In June, he kicks off his annual songwriting retreat, Camp Copperhead in upstate New York. Earle will also be headed to Texas as a performer at Willie Nelson’s 4th of July Picnic.
