Sturgill Simpson Plays Saturday Night Live This Weekend

Grammy-Nominated Sturgill Simpson will be Saturday Night Live's first musical guest of 2017 this weekend (Jan. 14th).

Sturgill will perform this Saturday night with the show being hosted by actress Felicity Jones – Jyn Erso of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Simpson is up for Album of the Year with 'A Sailor's Guide to Earth' at the 59th Grammy Awards on February 12th,

Simpson recently wrapped up a tour in support of the record, and hinted at taking some time off in a recent New York Times interview. His Grammy nomination however, may change that.

Sturgill told the Times..."I was so certain that when the tour wrapped up, we were done, but it might be a good idea to go play some shows again, I don't know, given how many millions of people are saying, ‘Who the [expletive] is Sturgill Simpson?’ as of this morning."
