Though it hasn't really felt like it lately, Memorial Day is officially looked at as the unofficial start to summer. I never really understood that, do you? I say enjoy this unseasonably cool weather because, obviously it's West Texas, and it’s more than likely the beginning of a very long, very hot summer.

If you haven't been paying attention to the weather, there's a good chance that we could be getting pretty wet this Memorial Day Weekend, so I have the perfect indoor activity for you. Or, it it ends up being to beautiful outside that you can't possibly resist, then set that Suddenlink TiVo.

Texas Rising will air on the History Channel. The Texas Revolution, and the history of the Texas Rangers, is the subject of the eight hour mini-series that will dramatically detail the Texas Revolution and the origins of the Texas Rangers.According to the History Channel, the mini-series will explore,

The mini-series features a star studded cast. Including: Kris Kristofferson, Bill Paxton, Ray Liotta, Thomas Jane, Crispin Glover, Rys Coiro, Max Thieriot, Oliver Martinez, Jeffery Dean Morgan, Brendan Fraser, Chad Michael Murray, and so many more. Texas Rising is also directed by two-time Oscar-nominated Roland Joffe, known for his works The Killing Fields and The Mission.

For Memorial Day, the History Channel reminds us the day is to remember those who sacrificed to make this state and nation great.
