The 2014 U.S. state rankings for teachers are out according to Wallet Hub.  As we know teaching is one of the most important jobs in the country molding children into young adults, but it's a profession that is overlooked and the pay isn't so great.  It's also a job that is fulfilling and quite influencing.  I still remember my 1st grade teacher Miss DeLaura to this day.

Some states do better than others in offering teachers better pay, student-teacher ratio and work environments than others.  The list provided by Wallet Hub ranks each state by these and other factors.  Here's a look at some of the rankings...

Here are the top ten states in which to teach:

  3. Minnesota
  4. Massachusetts
  5. Virginia
  6. Wisconsin
  7. New York

  9. Utah
  10. Iowa

Here are the bottom ten states in which to teach:

  1. North Carolina
  2. Mississippi
  3. West Virginia
  4. South Dakota
  5. Hawaii
  6. Arizona
  7. South Carolina
  8. Florida
  9. Maine
  10. Kentucky

If you're wondering about the Lone Star State, Texas places near the middle at 29th.
