The Departed has a new lead singer...at least for a new surprise album called 'In Retrospect', which features Cody Canada's longtime friend and bass player Jeremy Plato!

Plato has played with Canada since the beginning with Cross Canadian Ragweed and then the formation of The Departed in 2011. You can hear Plato’s background vocals all throughout their career together, but this time, Jeremy is the lead vocalist for their release of 'In Retrospect' which features 12 classic country covers, all from before 1972. You will hear covers of songs like Buck Owens’ “Act Naturally”, four Johnny Paycheck songs, and more.

They released 'In Retrospect' in September with almost no promotion...as a surprise for fans. Canada still contributes his awesome guitar style to the record, but Plato’s vocal delivery is the main focus. The album also features appearances from several close musician friends. In addition to the powerful duet with Jamie Lin Wilson, members from both Reckless Kelly and Jason Boland and The Stragglers contribute their talents.

'In Retrospect' is a true passion project and Plato’s vocals shine through. The Departed didn’t set out to make a bunch of money with this LP...Just a bunch of good music.

The album is available from their website or iTunes.
