The Family Shelter of San Angelo has planned several events locally surrounding National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. I visited with Pam Colbert, Program Director and Dona Solis, Case Manager for the Shelter about the events this morning on the 'Kickin' Wake-Up Call'.

Today is Go Purple Day. They explained why.

We also talked about The big Pets Against Domestic Violence Walk this Saturday with lots of activities going on.

Next Tuesday is Coffee and Conversation about Domestic Violence. City officials will be joining in on the conversation as well.

On Tuesday, October 27th the Family Shelter is having a Candlelight Vigil to remember victims of Domestic Violence.

As you can see, they have filled the month with activities and events to bring awareness to the problems facing us through Domestic Violence.
