The Josh Abbott Band is Working on a New Album

The Josh Abbott Band is recording a new album in Austin and word has it that the new project will probably be released later this year.

The new album is the follow-up to the 2015 release 'Front Row Seat,' which had a theme woven through it about the break-up of Abbott's marriage. The album was a concept album that Josh decided to create, divided into five acts, representing the stages of a relationship from courtship to after the breakup.

The group was on tour with the Randy Rogers Band when Abbott's father had a stroke in February causing him to leave the tour and soon after Josh's dad passed.

The Josh Abbott Band is doing some heavy duty touring starting up again on March 22nd. Check out the upcoming schedule:
