The Texas/Red Dirt scene is very close knit, often times artist write, record and play songs written together.  We have already dove into it a little with Adam Hood and Brian Keane but it's time yet again, for another battle.

It's time for another battle amongst friends.  This time we've got Cody Canada and Randy Rogers.  Cody Canada as most of you know is the former front man of the legendary Cross Canadian Ragweed and currently is the front man for Cody Canada and The Departed.  Randy Rogers, obviously, is the front man for the Randy Rogers Band.  Both Cody and Randy are very talented singer/songwriters and many moons ago they combined their efforts in writing and came up with a nice little tune you most likely have heard a time or two called 'This Time Around'.

Randy was the first to record the tune and slapped it on his album titled 'Rollercoaster' in 2004.  Cody followed that by recording it on Cross Canadian Ragweed's album 'Garage'  in 2005 and also pushed 'This Time Around' as a radio single hitting 43 on the national charts.  I am a die hard Cross Canadian Ragweed fan and they will forever be one of my favorite groups however, the Randy Rogers Band is too legit to quit as well in my opinion so this is a tough one for me.  I'm going to have to pick Randy's version over Ragweed's because Randy's version just seems to have more energy and drive making me want to get up and dance or party on.  It's a great 'forget you' song and I'm diggin' the RRB cut.  What do you think?
