A town hall meeting to provide information and answer questions about a proposed affordable housing complex that would be built at North Bryant Boulevard and West 33rd Street will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 5, in the McNease Convention Center.

The City Council has asked that public forums be held on such projects that would be partially financed with low-income tax housing credits administered by the state. The Maplewood Park project would consist of a 72-rental unit complex for low- and moderate-income families on five acres adjacent to the Ridgemar housing development.

It is competing with three similar projects proposed in Midland, in Odessa and at 2900 Valleyview Boulevard to earn the tax credits. Only one of the projects will receive the credits.

The developer will outline its plans for the project at the public forum and will take questions from the public. City officials will also be available to answer questions.

The forum will be in the City Council chambers at the Convention Center, 501 Rio Concho Drive. It will air live at cosatx.us/watch and will be rebroadcast on SATV, Suddenlink channel 17, at times to be determined.
