Gilley's was the backdrop for the 1980 movie 'Urban Cowboy,' in 1990 the building burned down. Now, after 25 years, it's looking to make a comeback.

Abc 13 Eyewitness News reports the story about the popular music venue yesterday. While Gilley's may not see sight of operations in Pasadena, TX, city leaders in La Porte, TX are looking to vote on the $55 million proposal tomorrow night.

The "La Porte Town Center" will not only house the famous Gilley's but will also include: retail spaces, restaurants, and town homes. "The centerpiece is a proposed 5,000 square feet entertainment center, which feature a dance hall." abc13 said.

The city will meet and deliberate the proposal Thursday evening at 6pm in the La Porte City Hall.
