Labrador Retrievers are again on top of the list of the most popular breed of dog in the U.S.  Every year, the American Kennel Club releases the top ten rankings and for the 24th year in a row, the Lab, whether yellow or black, was the number one breed for the surveyed results from 2014. My parents have a lab named Molly and she's an incredibly friendly dog. I can see how they are so popular, but she gets into a lot of trouble. She happens to be a very curious dog and she likes to dig up their yard. She might like to do that, but my parents don't like it when she does. Despite all that, they still love their Molly. German Shepard is the number two breed on this list. When I was a kid, I had an East German Shepard.

Here’s the listing of the most popular breeds in America in 2014:

  1. Labrador Retriever
  2. German Shepherd Dog
  3. Golden Retriever
  4. Bulldog
  5. Beagle
  6. Yorkshire Terrier
  7. Poodle
  8. Boxer
  9. French Bulldog
  10. Rottweiler
