4th Candidate Files for San Angelo Mayor
Zachary Ryan Taylor filed his candidacy for mayor today on the final day for candidates to formally declare in the May 6 City Council election.
Taylor was the fourth and final candidate to file for mayor, bringing to 11 the total number of candidates for the four available seats on the City Council. The mayor’s post and the District 2, 4 and 6 seats will be up for election. Winners will serve four-year terms.
Three of the four races will be contested. Tom Thompson is unopposed for the District 2 seat.
Those who previously filed their candidacies for other seats are:
- Mayor – Tony Villarreal, Brenda Gunter, Charlotte Farmer.
- District 4 – Lucy Gonzales and Chris Giroux.
- District 6 – Steve Hampton, Rebekah Coffman, Billie DeWitt, Tom Maurer.

Voters must be registered to vote by April 7 to vote in the May 6 election. Voter registration information can be found at votetomgreencounty.org; in the Tom Green County Election/Voter Registration Office on the first floor of the Edd B. Keyes Building, 113 W. Beauregard Ave.; and at all three Tom Green County library locations.
