Christmas brings out the good in people and I got to see a small jewel that has been hidden in San Angelo for its residents to enjoy.

Last night I was driving around San Angelo killing some time before I had to be at a softball game, as I was driving around I happened to pass a residence that had the entire yard decorated for Christmas. I was amazed at how many decorations and lights the people had hung and could only begin to imagine what their electric bill was. As I started to pay attention more I noticed people stopping and walking around the yard. So out of curiosity I made the block and came back to due some investigating. As I pulled up for the second time there was about three families touring the mini Christmas land, so I decided to get out and look for my self.

Much to my surprise it was a very elaborate collection that took many hours to put together and string up. As I was walking around a gentleman who I will not name that was the owner of the residence came up and spoke to me, he told me that his grandfather started this 34 years ago as a way to spread the love of the holidays for those that couldn't afford it or didn't have a place to decorate. The tradition has continued now and has been passed down for generations with the same intentions as when it was started, spread the love and thankfulness of Christmas with other people in the Concho Valley.
