Last year was a monumental year for Aaron Watson, and country music. It was early 2015, when his independently released album, The Underdog, shocked the country establishment debuting at No. 1.

Doing so, The Honky Tonk Kid became the only solo male country artist to self-release and independently distribute a No. 1 album on the Billboard Country Albums chart.

Beginning this week, to pay honor to his groundbreaking accomplishment, Watson is being featured at the Country Music Hall of Fame. The glass-enclosed installation can be found in the Gretsch Gallery exhibition, which spotlights all of country music's biggest stories of the past year.
