Active Military Perform With Country Stars During ACM All-Star Salute to the Troops’ Broadcast
The names of the lucky service men and women who were able to perform with some of country's biggest stars as part of ACM's Salute to the Troops have been released. They performed on April 7 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas with top country acts, and it was all for a good cause.
Lady Antebellum, Toby Keith and the Band Perry are just a few of the big country acts that helped salute our troops during the event. There was even a special presentation for Keith for all of the support he gives to the military. USO CEO retired Brig. Gen. John Pray surprised Keith by giving him the Spirit of USO honor.
Lady A was joined by U.S. Marine Corps Capt John Ed Auer who played the fiddle with the band and U.S. Marine Corps Capt Matt Smith who played the guitar. U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Harry Bounds and U.S. Coast Guard ME1 Noah Reinhart helped Keith for the finale before his surprise award presentation and the Band Perry were joined by U.S. Army Spc. Kelly A. Gregg on vocals. These are just a few of the performances that included military personnel.
LL Cool J and Chris O’Donnell were the event's hosts and there were also special presentations and appearances at the event that benefited ACM Lifting Lives. Country singer Craig Morgan, a U.S. Army Veteran, was on hand as was Joe Mantegna from 'Criminal Minds.' The event will be broadcast on May 20 at 9 pm ET on CBS.
