Police stormed a movie theater in San Diego on Saturday and shot and wounded an armed domestic-violence suspect who was pretending to be a patron.Authorities said they pursued Tom Billodeaux, 20, of Escondido, Calif. into the Reading Cinemas Carmel Mountain in San Diego following reports of him allegedly fighting with his girlfriend near the cinemas.

Billodeaux cooperated when first approached by police inside the theater, but he then allegedly grabbed a handgun in his lap and pointed it at an officer. Police said the officer shot Billodeaux in the chest and arm. Billodeaux was at a hospital on Sunday and is expected to recover. He will be arrested upon his release, police said. No one else was injured in the incident.

The shooting occurred during a matinee screening of 'Les Miserables.' More than a dozen moviegoers were forced to duck for cover and crawl to the exits during the incident. Witnesses said the Cineplex was surrounded by police, who shut down the shopping center's parking lot and stopped and searched vehicles while looking for Billodeaux.
