BJ Barham of American Aquarium Inks Worldwide Publishing Deal
Noted hard-worker BJ Barham is just doing what he's always done, pandemic or not, he is working hard. The American Aquarium front man released his band's new album Lamentations in May, and may've written the book on how to release an album during a pandemic along the way.
The album debut was the biggest in AA's 15-years. Produced by Shooter Jennings, Barham's latest debuted at #1 Top New Artist Album, #1 Americana/Folk Album, #2 Country Album, and #2 Rock Album.
If that weren't enough, some more big news for Barham as he has signed a worldwide publishing deal with Reservoir and One Riot.
“BJ Barham is the quintessential country songwriter: someone who writes honest stories about real life experiences, hard-earned lessons, and the resiliency of the heart,” says One Riot General Manager Amy Patton. “It’s a true privilege to work with such an incredible writer and artist who is re-infusing raw storytelling into country music.”
From Saving Country Music, Barham says of his decision, “I’m really excited to join such an amazing roster of talented songwriters. The One Riot/Reservoir team has such a great history of putting artists first and I’m looking forward to see what we can create together.”
A couple weeks ago, BJ and the boys closed out the month of August with several great nights of live music for fans by bringing each of band's five albums to life over five nights in a live-streamed concert event. The guys performed the entire American Aquarium catalog in chronological order beginning with Dances For the Lonely, Burn.Flicker.Die., Wolves, Things Change, and of course their new album, Lamentations.
