If you have the affected peanut butter, do not eat it.  Throw it away immediately. Wash surfaces and containers that may have touched the recalled peanut butter using hot soapy water.

The CDC says most people infected with Salmonella experience diarrhea, fever and stomach cramps. The symptoms usually start 6 hours to 6 days after swallowing the bacteria. Most people recover without treatment in 4 to 7 days. Young children and older adults along with people with weakened immune symptoms may experience more severe symptoms and require medical attention or hospitalization.
